How do you teach college-bound students about personal finance?

Citibank partnered with Scholastic to teach financial literacy to college-bound students by combining a college scholarship contest with a free curriculum kit.
Distributed to English teachers, guidance counselors, and business/economics teachers, the kit included lessons on money-management, writing skills, and other in-class materials to help high-school students prepare for college.
The essay contest attracted nationwide entries from high school students who were asked to write about a situation in which they had to use financial management to achieve a significant goal.
